VOTIX present at Mississippi Power Development and the Blue Economy Tour 2024. VOTIX was invited to participate in this year’s Blue Economy Tour in Gulfport, MS, hosted and sponsored by the Mississippi Power Economic Development division.
In this exhilarating experience, VOTIX met at NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration Stennis Space Center with a panel of experts and leaders from the government such as Blaine LaFontaine, AMPE (Director of Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission), Duane Armstrong (Director of NASA Stennis Space Center), Joe Calantoni (Director of Naval Meteorology Oceanography Command), Christine E. Cuicchi (Director of Navy DOD Supercomputing Resource Center), Richard Crout (Director of Naval Research Lab and Navy Tech Bridge), and @William Burnett, Ph.D. (Director of National Data Buoy Center), and learn, first-hand, about current space and oceans technology for both government and private sectors. Moreover, VOTIX, and other invitees, explored how to enhance these organizations’ footprint and service capability. The relevance of our drone orchestration and automation platform in oceanographic activities and space exploration became clear during the discussion.
After lunch, VOTIX presented to a diverse audience and discussed how to advance their operations in areas such as vessels assistance, assets and port safety assurance, infrastructure monitoring and analysis, drone as first responder for emergency and disaster management, law enforcement and firemen support, and much more! VOTIX explained how autonomous vehicles such as aircraft, rovers, dogs, boats and submarines can be operated and monitored from command centers (C2) to increase operational capacity, reduce expenditures to a fraction of cost, and minimize operational risk and human error involved. This audience included notable leaders such as Leila Hamdan (University of Southern Mississippi), Brian Cuevas and Joel Lawhead, GISP (Gulf Blue Initiative), Tony Jeff, Tomeka Durr-Wiley, William Cork and Christian Lockamy.
We thank our hosts Melissa Morel, Marcus Dufour, MBA, CEcD, Vickie Lacoste for their excellent attitude and insights. They are a great representation of the exhilarating Mississippi culture and a new generation of tech-oriented professionals!
Furthermore, the synergies with other tech companies attending became evident. We come back with a busy agenda to reconnect for further exploring innovation/integration with Xeo Air Inc. (Bronwyn M. Morgan), Nearview (Stefan Claesson), X944 (David Ryan), and SeaSats (Mike Flanagan/Declan Kerwin/David Gates).
Finally, VOTIX demonstrated its versatility, power and ease of use by connecting the amazing autonomous boat from SeaSats with our platform in less than three minutes and have them leveraging our C2 and streaming capabilities to a broader audience. Kudos to the SeaSats team for embracing the moment to witness, first hand, the power of innovation by combining mighty technologies.
